AICPA & CIMA Appoint Mark Koziel, CPA, as CEO

The Board of Directors of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA) has announced that Mark Koziel, CPA, CGMA, will be the next CEO, following an extensive global search. Koziel, currently the president and CEO of Allinial Global, will take over in January 2025 after a transition period. He will succeed Barry Melancon, CPA, CGMA, who is retiring at the end of 2024.
With a career spanning over 20 years, Koziel brings extensive leadership experience to the role. Before leading Allinial Global, he spent 14 years with the AICPA, holding key positions, including executive vice president of firm services. His broad understanding of the accounting and finance profession and a deep commitment to supporting accountants make him well-positioned to lead the AICPA into its next chapter.
