Why should I get my CPA license? Becoming a CPA is like leveling up in the business world. It's a challenging path, but the CPA designation indicates a person is a go-to expert who is trusted, professional, and dedicated.
Along with your college education and after passing the CPA Exam, you'll be seen as a dynamic professional, and you'll keep growing your skills and education through continued learning to keep your designation. How long is the CPA exam? The current CPA Exam takes a total of 16 hours. Candidates need to pass four sections on the exam to be licensed, including the three required core sections:
- Auditing and Attestation (AUD)
- Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR)
- Taxation and Regulation (REG)
Candidates also need to pass one of the discipline sections. Options include:
- Business Analysis and Reporting (BAR)
- Information Systems and Controls (ISC)
- Tax Compliance and Planning (TCP)
What are the educational requirements for the CPA Exam? A bachelor's degree, or its equivalent, from an accredited college or university with 120 total semester hours consisting of:
- 24 semester hours in accounting, above principles and/or introductory accounting courses
- One course in auditing or assurance, with concentration on external auditing standards
- 9 semester hours of upper-division level business courses

What is the Oklahoma Accountancy Board? The Oklahoma Accountancy Board (OAB) is the state regulatory agency for CPAs, PAs, and public accounting firms, and is the governing body for administering the CPA Exam in Oklahoma. The OAB processes applications to determine if eligibility is met and issues the CPA certificate or PA license. Learn more about the OAB here.
Where can I take the CPA Exam? You can take the CPA Exam at authorized Prometric test centers.
