What is a CPA? CPA stands for Certified Public Accountant. CPAs are money experts who help people and businesses with things like taxes, budgets, and big financial decisions.
What are the requirements to become a CPA? To become a CPA, you’ll need to:
- Get a degree: Earn a college degree with at least 150 credit hours (usually a bachelor’s degree + extra classes)
- Pass the CPA Exam: Complete the four-part CPA Exam
- Gain experience: Work under a licensed CPA or firm to get hands-on experience
