The IRS released important updates regarding deferred social security payments, getting ready for tax season and more.
Key notes:
- 50th IRS Commissioner: Danny Werfel began work as the 50th commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service.
- Tax time guide: The Where's My Refund? tool on IRS.gov is the most convenient way to check the status of 2022, 2021 and 2020 tax refunds. IRS2Go, the mobile app, offers another way for users to check their refund status.
- Changes to common credits and deductions, tax year 2022: Taxpayers who haven't filed yet should make sure they're familiar with the changes to credits and deductions for tax year 2022 to help them file an accurate return by the April 18, 2023, deadline.
- Getting ready to file resources: With the 2023 tax filing season in full swing, taxpayers should be sure to visit IRS.gov for updated resources and tools to help with their 2022 tax return.
