Responsibilities:  Due to the nature of public accounting, job responsibilities will vary depending on time of the year and periodical deadlines. Below is a list of pertinent qualification a candidate will need to adequately serve our clients in this position:

  •  Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for clients, which will include the following activities:
    • Establish a relationship with accounting clients to best communicate and obtain necessary information to prepare financial reports in a timely manner.
    • Reconcile client bank accounts, credit card statements, and outstanding loan balances.
    • Properly code adjusting journal entries to client ledgers for accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare income tax returns:
    • Responsible for organizing and coordinating client tax data for the accurate, timely completion of individual income tax returns.
    • Utilize tax software to prepare individual and business tax returns of various complexities and information volume.
    • Assist with monthly/quarterly personal and business tax projections throughout the year to assist clients and fellow staff with tax planning needs.
  • Process or review weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll for clients.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual payroll tax reports.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic accounting principals and understanding of general ledger accounts.
  • Ability and willingness to communicate both verbally and in writing with clients and co-workers.
  • Balance multiple projects and ability to shift prioritization to meet time sensitive deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Experience with Quickbooks or other accounting software.
  • Experience with Thomson Reuters products (UltraTax, Practice CS, Accounting CS) preferred.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business related field.
  • 3+ years of public accounting experience.
