Objectives

Join our panel of speakers discuss tax credit scholarships, Oklahoma's Parental Choice Tax Credit, and the effect that these programs help in providing families the school that best fits their student's need.  Additionally, you will find out how this benefits your clients by donating to these scholarship granting organizations to get the best tax breaks as we get to the end of the tax year.

  • What are the tax effects for your clients of the PCTC and the tax credit scholarship programs?
  • How do these programs best assist our schools, students, and your clients to take advantage of the PCTC and tax credit scholarship programs?

Leader Bios

Ameil Shadid

A fundraising and sales executive, Ameil is a native of Norman, Oklahoma, and graduated from The University of Oklahoma with his Undergraduate Degree in 2001 and his Masters in 2003. His professional career includes working at The University of Oklahoma for 14 years, serving as Executive Director of Development at the Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy, before leaving in 2014 to pursue a career with Butch’s Rat Hole and Anchor Service, an oil and gas service company focusing on Corporate Sales. In his current role as Director of Development for Cristo Rey OKC Catholic High School, he oversees their fundraising and manages a team responsible for major gifts, marketing and communications, as well as stewardship, events, and annual giving. Ameil owns Mineral Maintenance, LLC, a legacy oil and gas minerals company, and launched Dabke Partners in 2022 to follow his dream of helping others become better leaders. Ameil serves on the boards for Teen Recovery Solutions. He has served on the boards of Pellow Outreach, and the Norman Optimist Club, Norman Public Schools Foundation, The United Way of Norman, and CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education). Ameil and his wife, Kristy, have two children, AJ (17), and Sydney (12).

Robert Sellers, Consultant, Sellers, Robert

Rob Sellers is a sole proprietor that has been a CPA for over 40 years. Rob has served in various capacities as an accountant, Controller, CFO/COO, consultant, and executive director. Rob assists clients with financial, systems and business-related matters, while also assisting with public policy matters dealing with school choice and the rights of parents. Sellers is a past board member and chairman of various OSCPA committees, including the current chair of the CPA-PAC. He is also a past recipient of the Society’s Outstanding CPA in Business and Industry award. Besides his work and Society commitments, Rob is actively involved in a number of civic and charitable organizations in the Tulsa area.

Sarah Guardiola, OSF Kids

Sarah Guardiola is a highly accomplished individual with a diverse background. She has made significant contributions in community building, workforce development, and Hispanic consumer market growth through her co-founded company, Guardiola Consulting. Her involvement in presenting collaborative research at the United Nations Just Governance forum in Switzerland and her role as the CEO of the Skyway Leadership Institute demonstrate her leadership and impact on building trust within communities. Additionally, her achievements in the education sector, particularly in growing Oklahoma’s largest scholarship-granting organization, reflect her commitment to educational advancement and opportunity, which has issued over $30 million in scholarships to over 10,000 students due to tax credit-eligible donations. Beyond her professional endeavors, Sarah enjoys roasting coffee, Agatha Christie novels, traveling, and spending time with her family.
