OSCPA's 2026 CPA Day at the Capitol

March 12, 2026

Nearly 50 CPAs from across the state gathered at the Oklahoma State Capitol for this year’s CPA Day at the Capitol—a day focused on connection, conversation, and making sure the voice of the profession is heard when and where it matters most.

Members spent the day meeting with lawmakers, handing out 2026 Tax Guides, sharing perspectives from the profession, and strengthening the relationships that help keep CPAs engaged in the legislative process. Here’s a look at a few moments from this year’s gathering at the Oklahoma State Capitol.

We started the day celebrating the passage of HB 4317—a bill that creates additional pathways to CPA licensure while maintaining the integrity of the credential and expanding access to achieving the CPA designation. Learn more about this bill, get resources to connect with legislators, and follow along as it progresses through the Oklahoma Legislature here.

We continued the conversation by hearing from CPAs currently in legislative office, Rep. Gerrid Kendrix, CPA, and Rep. Cody Maynard, CPA, whose words reminded us why our work matters and the impact of CPAs on Oklahoma communities and in the legislative process.

We concluded the day hearing from Sen. Dave Rader and Rep. Brian Hill. They shared their perspective on the importance of CPA involvement in the legislative process and provided an update on the bills they’re currently working on to help move Oklahoma forward.

They also highlighted how essential CPAs are to the state’s economy as technology continues to evolve and businesses keep growing.

Members also met with and handed out the OSPCA's 2026 Tax Guides to legislators.

CPA Day at the Capitol continues to be an important reminder that when CPAs stay engaged and involved, their insights make a difference. From supporting sound policy to building relationships with lawmakers, members help ensure the profession remains strong in Oklahoma.

Thank you to the members, legislators, and supporters who made this year’s event possible, and to those who continue to support the CPA-PAC and the profession’s advocacy efforts!
