Celebrating Oklahoma's Newest CPAs

On Saturday, November 16, the OSCPA joined the Oklahoma Accountancy Board at Will Rogers Theatre in Oklahoma City to honor both the state’s newest CPAs and those who have spent decades dedicated to the accounting profession. The event, filled with recognition, inspiration, and celebration, provided a moment to reflect on the achievements and impact of Oklahoma’s accounting community.

The ceremony welcomed those who had recently earned their CPA licenses, marking the culmination of years of hard work and study. It also honored those who have reached significant milestones in their careers, particularly those who have dedicated over 50 years to the profession. These seasoned professionals are a testament to the resilience, integrity, and unwavering commitment that defines the CPA community.

The event was highlighted by an engaging and motivational keynote address by Jimmy J. Williams, CPA, an OSCPA member. In his speech, Williams encouraged all attendees to embrace courage throughout their careers and to use their commitment, creativity, and connections (3 Cs) to better not only their careers but also the state of Oklahoma. His powerful words reminded the audience of the profound influence CPAs can have on their communities and the importance of staying committed to lifelong learning and professional growth.

• Rusty Minnix, CPA, kicked off the ceremony with an inspiring welcome to all attendees.
• Ross McKinney, CPA, Chair of the OSCPA, presented two Silver Medal Awards, a prestigious honor recognizing outstanding achievements on the CPA Exam.
• Jimmy J. Williams, CPA, delivered an inspiring keynote message on the importance of courage, creativity, and professional commitment.
• The ceremony celebrated individuals who have made significant contributions to the profession, recognizing their decades of service and dedication.
• New CPAs took the official CPA Pledge, a commitment to uphold the highest ethical standards and continue contributing positively to the profession and their communities.
• Newly licensed CPAs were officially presented with their certificates, marking the beginning of their careers in the accounting profession.
