Event Recap: Leadership Summit

Last Thursday, 27 attendees tapped into their leadership potential at the OSCPA's Leadership Summit.
OSCPA members had the opportunity to build leadership skills and take a deeper look at what it means to be a professional and community leader.

Local leaders with combined decades of career experience in accounting, industry and association realms lead sessions on building a high-performance team, managing conflict, managing change, and lifting others in tough times.
Kellen Cowan emphasizing the importance of effective communication when building your high-performance team.
Speakers included Beth Adele, Ph.D., chair of the mass communications department at Oklahoma City University; Kellen Cowan, co-owner of Newave Solutions and Founder of SOML INC/Band of Brothers Tulsa; Anne Roberts, adjunct professor at Oklahoma City University, nonprofit consultant and executive coach; and Lyndi Zavy, an organizational development consultant and founder of Rivers & Roads.
Beth Adele, Ph.D., informs attendees of the importance of building resilience to change.
"Change is inevitable, and leaders' resilience needs to be supported and reinforced," Adele said. "This [event] provides practical ways for any leader, no matter their title of level in the organization, to refresh themself and motivate others within a dynamic and personal and professional environment."
